Domestic Violence Prevention Program

Family Promise of Hendricks County’s Domestic Violence Transitional Housing (DVTH) Program provides safe, confidential, scattered-site transitional housing and trauma-informed, survivor-centered supportive services for individuals and families fleeing domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, or human trafficking who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

Scattered-site housing throughout Hendricks County allows survivors to access community-based housing that promotes privacy, safety, and stability while reducing the risk of being located by an abuser. The intended outcomes are to increase participant safety, support healing from trauma, improve housing and economic stability, increase income and employment, strengthen self-sufficiency, and support successful transitions to permanent housing.

Individualized Support

Participants receive individualized case management focused on safety planning, housing stabilization, financial literacy, budgeting, employment coaching, transportation assistance, benefits enrollment, childcare referrals, legal advocacy, healthcare coordination, and connections to behavioral health, substance use services, and community resources.

Services are voluntary, confidential, trauma-informed, and tailored to each survivor’s unique goals and circumstances. Case managers work collaboratively with participants to develop housing stability plans and provide the support needed to successfully transition to permanent housing.
