Our History
Decades of serving families in Hendricks County.
Family Promise of Hendricks County has deep roots in our community, born out of a desire to ensure that no family in Hendricks County has to face homelessness alone.
What began as a grassroots effort to connect families in crisis with the resources they needed has grown into a comprehensive network of programs — from emergency shelter to long-term stability services — serving over 150 families every month.
The opening of Almost Home, our overnight shelter supported by the RJS Foundation, marked a pivotal milestone — giving us the ability to provide immediate, safe housing to families experiencing homelessness while we work with them toward permanent solutions.
Today, Family Promise of Hendricks County stands as a leader in addressing homelessness and housing instability in the region, combining emergency response with prevention, immigrant services, legal support, mental health resources, and a commitment to walking with families for up to two years after they graduate from our programs.
